ECO CHEMISTRY Hale Yedier, Chairman of the Board Hello to Friends Who Are Curious, Researching, Trying, Not Giving Up, Adding Value, Producing, and Feeling a Sense of Belonging to the World of Cosmetics, Striving for the dreams of a community, adding value to the lives of more people together... Overcoming challenges we once faced alone, now together... What a great feeling it is to truly “belong”! How important it is to be united! Our happiness has wiped away our tiredness, and our successes have brought the question: “What’s next?” There is so much more to come! We’re excited about the projects that will ignite the cosmetics sector, broaden its horizons, and open doors to new possibilities. In 2023, we facilitated over 220 B2B meetings for our exporting companies through the “Sectoral Trade Delegations,” which we organized abroad for the first time. We continue to keep our industry informed about current developments with “Cosmilife,” our magazine published three times a year. Feeling the excitement of embarking on such a magnificent and important journey, we are inspired by those who say, “Now is the time, let’s go!” We would be delighted to see all industry players join us in this journey. SAPRO CLEANING PRODUCTS Ü. Belgin Sile, R&D and Legal Affairs Director The main purpose of the association is to: Taking into account the Turkish and European Cosmetics Regulations, without neglecting human and environmental health, protect the consumer, contribute to addressing the problems and needs of manufacturers by conducting research, consciously produce high value-added cosmetic products within this framework, and support our country's cosmetics sector and cosmetic scientists in gaining a significant position on the global stage. How Do We Take Action? Encouraging Science and Research: Comprehensive science and research form the foundation of our industry. This is essential to maintaining our competitive position and ensuring that we guarantee the safety and innovation of the products our consumers demand. With the expert teams of our Scientific Board, a key focus of our research is to lead the evaluation of the safety of cosmetics and personal care products, and to raise awareness among both consumers and manufacturers. Ensuring Safety in Cosmetics: The Turkish and EU Cosmetics Regulations govern how cosmetics and personal care products are produced and placed on the market. These regulations are the most comprehensive set of laws for our sector globally, requiring that cosmetics be safe for human health when used under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions. Our experts on the Regulation Committee, along with our members and other stakeholders, provide support and guidance through their efforts to improve and expand knowledge about ingredients, production processes, and the science behind cosmetic products. Supporting Sustainable Development: KÜAD supports the development of an innovative, sustainable, competitive, and respected cosmetics industry that provides the best service to consumers in Europe. The United Nations defines sustainable development as meeting the needs of the present based on three pillars: economic development, environmental protection, and social responsibility, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. KÜAD continues to work with our expert team members in line with these pillars: to reduce our environmental footprint, to provide economic benefits through high-value jobs and growth, to enhance the social value of our products, and to manage the communities where our products are produced or sourced through the value chain. Customer Awareness: Consumer information is a critical component of the interaction between the cosmetics and personal care industry and its consumers. It provides details about products, how they work, who they are for, and how to use and benefit from them effectively. It is essential that consumers can make informed choices with complete information and that cosmetic manufacturers are transparent and responsible in their marketing communications. Cosmetic legislation clearly outlines what information should be communicated to consumers through product labels and sets criteria for voluntary marketing communications and claim substantiation. We continue to raise awareness through our studies and guides aimed at both consumers and manufacturers. Supporting International Regulations and Competitiveness and Leading Voluntary Actions: KÜAD, working within the framework of voluntarism in the Turkish and EU Cosmetics Sector, believes that through NGO efforts, the industry in Turkey and Europe can become more competitive while also fostering innovation, enhancing safety, and ultimately increasing trust among consumers, our expert teams, and other stakeholders. We aim to cooperate with all relevant public and private institutions/organizations to achieve our goals, and to organize, participate in, and collaborate on congresses, symposiums, fairs, exhibitions, competitions, seminars, workshops, panels, conferences, meetings, trainings, etc. Additionally, our primary goal is to create new platforms in collaboration with national or international public or private institutions/organizations when needed. AKS COSMETICS Fuat Arslan, Company Owner Although the cosmetics sector holds great potential in our country, it has not received the attention it deserves for many years. I have always believed that NGOs play an active role in helping our state recognize this potential and provide the necessary attention. In line with this belief, I have sought to contribute by participating in various NGOs. However, in these previous activities and associations, we were unable to achieve the strong impact and vision we had aimed for. Together with a few of our industry stakeholders, we decided to establish a new organization and association that could create awareness and add value to our sector with a fresh vision and approach. KÜAD was founded as a small structure, driven by great faith despite many challenges, through the collective effort of a few sector representatives. Every day, it has grown and expanded its influence, evolving into a visionary organization that leads the sector, boasts strong international integration, and is admired by all sector stakeholders. It has become one of the most influential institutions in the growth and development of the cosmetics industry. In fact, rather than merely being a member of KÜAD, we at AKS Kozmetik have played an active role in its founding and development, contributing to its success story at every stage. Today, we continue our activities as a member of the KÜAD Board of Directors, as President of the International Cosmetics Congress, and as President of the KÜAD Technical Commission. AKSAN COSMETICS Zafer Kutanoğlu, CEO I was introduced to KÜAD through the International Cosmetics Congress. Our company's membership in the Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers Association was a strategic decision that aligned with our goals of closely following dynamic sector developments, expanding our professional network, and accessing sector-specific training. This membership has not only allowed us to stay ahead of industry trends but also to learn about these developments in advance and strengthen our business strategies accordingly. The committee activities and the opportunities to participate in various events organized by the association have enabled us to enhance our collaboration opportunities, gain a stronger position in the sector, and build valuable connections with other professionals. As a result, our membership has not only facilitated information exchange but also strengthened our business by increasing sector interactions. KÜAD membership has added significant value to our company, which already enjoys strong recognition and a reliable brand perception. The specialized training programs and seminars organized by the association have enriched our knowledge base by keeping our personnel updated on the latest sector trends. Moreover, the extensive and effective network within the association has increased our opportunities for collaboration, allowing us to become even more influential in the sector. This, in turn, has contributed to maintaining our company's leadership by further bolstering our already high levels of reliability and recognition. The association provides a vital platform for closely monitoring sector developments, sharing information, creating collaboration opportunities, and advocating for industry interests. Therefore, I believe that other companies operating in similar sectors can also benefit from these advantages. WATSONS Türkiye Seher İrem Çevik, Quality Assurance Department Manager We became aware of KÜAD through our collaborators in the sector. The presence of individuals in KÜAD who are poised to lead the development of the cosmetics industry and address its challenges, as well as the association's impactful congresses, were significant factors for us. Our membership has provided us with the opportunity to engage with a broader range of industry participants and access more information when cooperation is needed. In a world where access to information is virtually unlimited but finding accurate information is crucial, companies stand to gain significantly from an association like KÜAD, which brings together so many competent professionals. REBUL COSMETICS Behice Harmandalı, R&D Manager Being a member of the Association of Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers offers your company the advantage of staying informed about the latest industry developments, receiving support on legal regulations, and benefiting from collaboration opportunities. It also provides training and development resources, helping you strengthen your position by amplifying the collective voice of your sector. Additionally, you can explore opportunities to develop joint projects through collaboration with other association members. SUDESAN CLEANING PRODUCTS Nurtaç Kaptı, Product Manager Thanks to Mr. Bülent Konca, we had the opportunity to meet KÜAD. As we heard and saw their congresses that added value to cosmetic manufacturers and cosmetic production, we wanted to be a part of it. We thank you for being an association where we can get opinions on different issues from marketing to production and regulation. Wouldn't you like to be with a team that comes from within the production, keeps the pulse of the market and shares with you by following the regulations while producing cosmetic products? FULSER COSMETICS Serdar Mutaf, Assistant General Manager I first encountered KÜAD in 2019 during my participation in the International Cosmetics Congress. The topics covered, the quality of the participants, the speeches and speakers, the emphasis on the scientific aspects of the industry, and the genuine communication within the sector were all compelling reasons to join KÜAD. Our membership has provided our company with access to a high-quality, value-added network. KÜAD has become an ecosystem where we can ask questions to the right people, share our ideas, and expand both our knowledge and network. KÜAD is a civil society organization that I highly recommend to any company involved in the cosmetics sector. Being part of KÜAD feels like belonging to an open-minded community where you can access accurate information, feel valued, and most importantly, explore new ideas and projects that can positively impact the sector. MG INTERNATIONAL FRAGRANCE COMPANY Bulent Konca, Assistant General Manager When the idea of establishing a platform to unite the chemical sector with KÜAD was proposed, I was excited and decided to join. We believed that our institutional experiences could benefit many people and institutions by supporting sector producers and facilitating cooperation between producers and universities. Our membership was driven by the desire to stay informed about sector needs and demands, regularly connect with stakeholders through events, strengthen relationships, develop collaborations, and undertake promising projects. I particularly recommend KÜAD to all start-ups and small-to-medium-sized producers. It offers valuable opportunities to interact with the sector, participate in training, engage in target market trade development events, and connect with all stakeholders in the industry. THE PUREST SOLUTIONS Alim Ozan Evliyaoğlu, Co-Founder We first encountered KÜAD in 2021 through our manufacturer, AKS Kozmetik, and Fuat Bey. After observing their productive work, we decided to engage with them directly. Several factors influenced our decision to join KÜAD, including their active role in the sector, their planning and execution of influential congresses, and the opportunity to have close interactions as a sector partner. Being able to stay informed about sector developments, updates, and innovations firsthand has been extremely valuable. Their guidance on technical issues, especially during our brand's rapid growth phases, has been highly productive. Additionally, KÜAD has helped us build a sectoral network and understand the industry's potential and scope. We now recommend KÜAD to many of our sector partners and brand owners, encouraging them to leverage the benefits KÜAD offers for their brand and company development. We believe that, as a community, the Turkish cosmetics industry can achieve significant progress through our collective efforts. ELLEAIR INTERNATIONAL TURKEY Şule Küçükoğlu, R&D Quality Director Being a member of KÜAD offers numerous advantages. Membership allows you to stay informed about the latest sector-specific information and innovations, helping you develop your business effectively. Additionally, you can connect with industry professionals, expand your network, establish collaborations, and share experiences within the sector. Furthermore, through KÜAD’s legislation and legal affairs group, you can gain insights into the legal regulations affecting the cosmetics industry and participate in processes that contribute to product development. KÜAD membership is a valuable step toward strengthening your business and staying closely aligned with industry developments. DALAN CHEMISTRY Özgür Polat, R&D Manager I discovered KÜAD while working in the sector. It has grown into an effective organization that unites stakeholder companies on a single platform. With many years of experience in the detergent industry and the last three years in cosmetics, I have attended most of the congresses and facilitated my company's membership in KÜAD. Through this membership, I have observed that the institution's suggestions have led to effective work, particularly in Ministry processes, and have addressed producers' concerns. I highly recommend KÜAD to companies based in Turkey. The congresses, scientific presentations, and professional workshops they offer are extremely valuable. PİNKAR CHEMICALS Serdar Kırbaş, Production Manager I initially learned about KÜAD through friends and acquaintances in the sector, and later through the valuable events, congresses, and training sessions it organizes. Like other stakeholders who recognize the importance of KÜAD, we became members with the intention of contributing to meaningful initiatives, sharing our knowledge, and learning from others. Although KÜAD is still relatively young, it has already demonstrated its potential to become a cornerstone of the sector. Therefore, I recommend that all sector stakeholders join now, before it’s too late. I am confident that uniting all stakeholders under KÜAD will serve as a model for the growth of knowledge through shared experience. ARESA FLAVOURS & FRAGRANCES M. Deniz Özatıcı, Chairman of the Board I first met KÜAD years ago, upon the invitation of Halis Ertaş, the owner of Talya Herbal Products. We decided to join KÜAD, believing it was important to be part of a structure established and developed by industry professionals. Dear Cosmetics World Representatives, We invite you to become a member of KÜAD, an association that closely monitors innovations in the cosmetics sector and offers numerous advantages to its members. In the rapidly evolving cosmetics industry, it is crucial for companies and individuals to stay abreast of these changes. KÜAD is dedicated to tracking the latest trends, technological advancements, and market dynamics, and providing its members with the most current information in these areas. By joining our association, you will stay ahead of sector innovations, enhance the efficiency of your work, and forge valuable connections with other professionals. As a member, you will be part of a community that is responsive to sector changes and will have access to congresses, training programs, and collaborative projects organized by KÜAD. Additionally, you will gain access to up-to-date sector information, helping you make your business more competitive. We encourage you to join the growing KÜAD family and take advantage of this opportunity to advance your success in the cosmetics industry with us. ENTEKNO MATERIALS Oktay Uysal, General Manager İsmail Aslan and Bekir Çakıcı introduced us to KÜAD during our initial years in the cosmetics sector. The sincere, effective, and democratic atmosphere at KÜAD encouraged us to become members. Our membership has strengthened our communication with other cosmetics companies, given us better insight into the sector's direction, and helped us identify obstacles and opportunities more effectively. I strongly recommend KÜAD to all companies in the cosmetics sector. Being part of KÜAD means joining a supportive family. The Turkish cosmetics industry is robust, and KÜAD serves as an umbrella organization in this field. Being under one roof creates an environment where companies can support each other, tackle challenges together, and grow stronger. In this sincere and productive environment, many valuable cosmetics companies in our country are thriving and will continue to do so. FROMA ESSENCE AND AROMA İlkem Ünlüçerçi, Trade Director We were introduced to KÜAD through Levent Kahrıman, a familiar figure in the industry. Sectoral activities played a significant role in Froma Esans' decision to join KÜAD. We regularly attend the congresses organized by KÜAD and actively communicate with cosmetics sector companies on behalf of our team. Additionally, we keep up with their technical information. I recommend KÜAD to all stakeholders in the sector due to the valuable projects it undertakes for cosmetics manufacturers. TALYA HERBAL PRODUCTS Elife Gündüz, Responsible Manager During the establishment of the association, we were introduced to KÜAD through Mr. Levent. KÜAD has been instrumental in addressing the issues faced by the cosmetics sector by providing support related to institutional relations. We recommend KÜAD to other companies because it helps us stay updated with the latest knowledge and trends through its organizations and training programs. KÜAD understands the language of the sector and serves as a valuable solution partner for industry challenges. RK COSMETICS Ramazan Keleş, General Manager Before joining KÜAD, we were informed about its activities through our contacts in management, especially SFA AR-GE’s Mr. Bekir and İsmail, and through our long-standing acquaintance with Mr. Levent. We officially joined the association in 2019 and became members of the Board of Directors. It has always been clear that cosmetics manufacturers and sector stakeholders share common challenges that require collaborative solutions. KÜAD effectively addresses this need by providing a platform for discussing and resolving these issues. It is commendable that member companies prioritize the overall benefit of the sector over individual interests, and KÜAD continues to operate with this ethos. Membership has enabled us to find more efficient solutions, enhance communication, and stay updated with innovations and developments. In recent years, KÜAD has gained significant reliability and influence in the sector through successful events and effective communication. This increased credibility attracts the attention of companies that are not yet members. We also recommend and guide sector stakeholders we interact with to take advantage of the benefits offered by the association. Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Prof. Dr. M.Fatih Emen Meeting KÜAD typically happens through another member’s recommendation or by attending a KÜAD event, such as a congress or training session. This interaction often prompts further exploration of KÜAD. When you discover that KÜAD represents the entire cosmetics sector, contributes to legislation preparation, and serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors as well as universities, you’ll find that joining KÜAD is an excellent decision. The satisfaction of being part of such a significant community will naturally lead you to share this positive experience with those you value and encourage them to join KÜAD as well. Mersin University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göktürk Avşar Although our country has high potential in many areas, it historically relied heavily on imports. Recently, however, the cosmetics sector has seen a rise in companies focusing on high value-added products and developing their own formulas. It became apparent that sector companies needed to connect and collaborate under a unified platform to monitor the industry's position both domestically and internationally. Thus, the KÜAD association was established to address this need. Founded by our current association president, leading industry members, and prominent scientists, KÜAD quickly made a name for itself through numerous well-executed projects and international congresses. The association’s efforts have drawn interest from all companies, strengthening their positions and increasing their effectiveness through cooperation with state representatives and protection of industry interests. As a result, our country has become a notable player in the global cosmetics sector, largely thanks to KÜAD’s significant contributions. KÜAD’s congresses not only highlight products but also scientific studies, attracting attention from both researchers and manufacturers. This has facilitated more professional and effective project development through collaborations with academics and research-focused companies. Many companies, initially uncertain about their ability to innovate, have been encouraged and supported by KÜAD in producing groundbreaking new products. Incentives for innovation continue to grow, with particular emphasis on promoting University-Industry collaborations. The cosmetics sector, in particular, benefits from such collaborations, and KÜAD plays a crucial role in facilitating these connections. As a leader in the production of sustainable, high value-added products, KÜAD has distinguished itself on a global scale. The recent publication of its sector magazine, regular talks, and training sessions have greatly contributed to the industry. KÜAD remains open to every company, regardless of size, that wishes to be active and contribute. Today, as part of this growing family, I am proud to be involved with KÜAD and its many diverse activities.

ECO CHEMISTRY Hale Yedier, Chairperson of the Board Hello to all our friends who are curious, inquisitive, trying, unwavering, making a difference, producing, and who feel a sense of belonging to the cosmetics world! Striving for the dreams of a community, adding value to the lives of more people together… Overcoming together the issues we struggled with alone… What a wonderful feeling it is to “belong”! How important it is to be hand in hand! Looking back at the path we have taken as KÜAD since day one, this is exactly how we feel! Our joys have swept away our fatigue. Our successes have brought the question, “What’s next?” There are so many things in line! We are struggling to prioritize our projects that will amplify the excitement of the cosmetics industry, broaden its horizons, and open it to new worlds. Wouldn’t it be great if we could implement them all at once, right now? Why not? In 2023, we hosted the 7th "International Cosmetics Congress," welcoming 65 companies as sponsors and over 900 participants from the sector. Through training programs organized monthly in collaboration with relevant institutions under the umbrella of KÜAD Academy, we directly reached 3500 people from the sector. In 2023, we initiated "Sectoral Trade Delegations" abroad for the first time, enabling our exporting companies to conduct over 220 B2B meetings. We continue to share current developments with our sector through our "Cosmilife" magazine, published three times a year. With the resounding voices of those who say "I'm in!", with heartfelt participation, with correct and swift decisions, and with confident steps, we are confident that our sector will gain significant momentum. Together, we are fulfilling, and will continue to fulfill, the responsibility of being a community that offers goodness, vitality, and beauty to the world. We are confident that those who feel the excitement of embarking on such a magnificent and important journey, whose ideas will inspire us all, and who say, "Now is the time, let's go!" We would be delighted to see all industry players who have something to say by our side. SAPRO CLEANING PRODUCTS U. Belgin Sile, Research and Development and Legal Affairs Director The main objective of the association is: To contribute to consumer protection, to the problems and needs of manufacturers by conducting research, taking into account Turkish and European Cosmetic Regulations, without disregarding human and environmental health, to ensure the conscious production of high value-added cosmetic products within this framework, and to support our country's cosmetic sector and cosmetic scientists in becoming influential in the world. How We Act? Promoting Science and Research; Comprehensive science and research forms the foundation of our industry. This is necessary to maintain our competitive position and to ensure that we guarantee the safety and product innovations demanded by our consumers. With the expert teams of our Scientific Board, a significant area of our research is to lead the assessment of the safety of cosmetic and personal care products, raising awareness among consumers and manufacturers. Ensuring Safety in Cosmetics; The Turkish and EU Cosmetic Regulations regulate how cosmetic and personal care products are produced and placed on the market. It is the most comprehensive set of laws for our sector in the world, requiring cosmetics to be safe for human health when applied under normal or foreseeable conditions of use. Our experts working in the Regulatory Committee, along with our members and other stakeholders, provide support through training and guidance, aiming to improve and enhance knowledge about ingredients, production processes, and the science behind cosmetic products. Supporting Sustainable Development; KÜAD supports the development of an innovative, sustainable, competitive, and reputable cosmetics industry that best serves consumers in Europe. The United Nations defines sustainable development as meeting the needs of the present based on three pillars: economic development, environmental protection, and social responsibility, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In line with these principles, KÜAD continues its work with our expert team members to: Reduce our environmental footprint; Generate economic benefits through high-value jobs and growth; Increase the social value of our products; and Manage the communities where our products are produced or purchased through the value chain. Informing Consumers; Consumer information is a crucial component of the interaction between the cosmetics and personal care industry and consumers. Products convey information about how they work, who they are for, and how best to use and benefit from them. It is essential that consumers are fully informed so they can make informed choices, and that cosmetic manufacturers are transparent and accountable in their marketing communications. Cosmetic legislation clearly specifies what information should be conveyed to consumers through product labels and also sets criteria for voluntary marketing communication and the justification of claims. We continue to raise awareness through our work and guidelines for consumers and manufacturers. Supporting International Regulations and Competitiveness and Leading Voluntary Actions Working on a voluntary basis, KÜAD believes that through its work with the Turkish and EU Cosmetics Sector and NGOs, it can make the Turkish and European industry more competitive, increase innovation with trends, improve safety, and ultimately increase trust among consumers, our expert teams, and other stakeholders. We collaborate with all kinds of public and private institutions/organizations to achieve our goals. Organizing, participating in, and collaborating on congresses, symposiums, fairs, exhibitions, competitions, seminars, workshops, panels, conferences, meetings, trainings, etc. Furthermore, creating new platforms with national or international public or private institutions/organizations when needed is one of our primary goals. AKS COSMETICS Fuat Arslan, Company Owner Despite its immense potential in the cosmetics industry in our country, it has not received the attention it deserves for many years. I have always believed that NGOs play an active role in enabling our government to recognize this potential and provide the necessary support. In line with this, we have tried to contribute by serving in various NGOs. However, we did not find the strong impact and vision we aimed for in these previous activities and associations. Together with a few industry stakeholders, we decided to establish a new organization and association with a new vision and approach, one that could generate awareness and add value to our sector. KÜAD was founded as a small structure by a few industry representatives working together, despite many difficulties, but with great faith. It has grown day by day, expanding its sphere of influence, and transformed into a visionary organization that guides the sector, has strong international integration, and is appreciated and admired by all industry representatives. It has become one of the most influential institutions in the growth and development of the cosmetics sector. In fact, more than just being a member of KÜAD, we, as AKS KOZMETİK, have played an active role in the establishment and development of the association, being part of a great success story and participating in all its processes. We continue our activities as a member of the KÜAD Board of Directors, President of the International Cosmetics Congress, and President of the KÜAD Technical Commission. AKSAN COSMETICS Zafer Kutanoğlu, CEO I met KÜAD (Cosmetic Manufacturers and Researchers Association) through the International Cosmetics Congress. Our company's membership in the association was a strategic step that combined our desire to closely follow dynamic developments in the sector, our goal to expand our professional network, and our aim to access sector-specific training. This membership not only allowed us to follow industry trends but also to learn about these developments in advance and strengthen our business strategies accordingly. The commission activities and participation in various events within the association enabled us to increase collaboration opportunities, gain an effective position in the sector, and establish valuable connections with other professionals. In this way, association membership not only facilitated the exchange of information but also strengthened our business by increasing interactions within the sector. KÜAD membership added value to our company, which already has a strong brand recognition and a reliable image. The special training programs and seminars organized by the association helped our personnel to keep up with the latest trends in the sector, further enriching our knowledge. Furthermore, the extensive and effective network within the association increased our collaboration opportunities, enabling us to achieve a more effective position in the sector. This has helped our company further strengthen its already high levels of reliability and recognition, contributing to its continued leadership in the sector. The association provides an important platform for closely monitoring developments in the sector, sharing information, creating collaboration opportunities, and defending the interests of the sector. Therefore, I believe that other companies operating in similar sectors can also benefit from these advantages. WATSONS Türkiye Seher İrem Çevik, Quality Assurance Unit Manager We learned about KÜAD through people we collaborate with within the industry. The fact that KÜAD includes individuals who can lead the development of the cosmetics industry, bring its problems to the forefront, and make their voices heard through industry congresses was a key factor for us. Our membership has given us the opportunity to engage in broader discussions with manufacturing companies and access more information when we need collaboration. Especially in this world where access to information is limitless but access to accurate information is crucial, having such a competent association will be a great benefit for companies. REBUL COSMETICS Behice Harmandalı, R&D Manager Becoming a member of the Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers Association allows your company to stay informed about the latest developments in the industry, receive support regarding legal regulations, and benefit from collaboration opportunities. It also offers training and development opportunities and helps you achieve a stronger position by uniting the voice of your industry. Through collaborations among association members, you can find opportunities to develop joint projects. SUDESAN CLEANING PRODUCTS Nurtaç Kaptı, Product Manager Thanks to Mr. Bülent Konca, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with KÜAD (Cosmetic Manufacturers Association). Having heard about and seen their congresses, which add value to cosmetic manufacturers and the cosmetics industry, we wanted to be a part of it. We thank them for being an association from which we can get advice on various topics, from marketing to production and regulation. Wouldn't you want to be working with a team that comes from within the cosmetics production process, keeps its finger on the pulse of the market, and shares information with you by following regulations? FULSER COSMETICS Serdar Mutaf, Deputy General Manager I first encountered KÜAD (Cosmetics Industry Association) in 2019 during my participation in the International Cosmetics Congress. The topics covered at the congress, the quality of participation, the presentations and speakers, the emphasis placed on the scientific aspect of the field, and the sincerity and language of communication established within the industry were sufficient factors for our company to become a member of KÜAD. Our KÜAD membership provided access to a high-quality and value-added network. KÜAD became an ecosystem for us where we could ask the right people questions, share our ideas, and expand our knowledge and network. I recommend KÜAD as a non-governmental organization for every company involved in the cosmetics industry. You feel like you're part of an open-minded organization that provides access to accurate information, makes you feel valued, and most importantly, has a positive approach to new ideas and projects that can develop the industry. MG INTERNATIONAL FRAGRANCE COMPANY Bülent Konca, Deputy General Manager When the idea of establishing a platform where the chemical industry could come together was shared with KÜAD (Association of Chemical Manufacturers), I witnessed this excitement and became involved. We wanted to become members because we believed that supporting manufacturers in the sector and creating a platform where manufacturers could collaborate with universities would benefit many individuals and/or institutions from our corporate experience. We joined to gain knowledge about the needs and demands of the sector, to regularly meet with sector stakeholders through events and strengthen relationships, to develop collaborations, and to realize projects with potential. I especially recommend it to all startups and small and medium-sized manufacturers; it will provide opportunities for interaction with the sector, training, target market trade development events, and being together with all sector stakeholders. THE PUREST SOLUTIONS Alim Ozan Evliyaoğlu, Founding Partner We met KÜAD in 2021. It was an organization that included our manufacturer AKS Kometik and Mr. Fuat. We followed their work, found it fruitful, and decided to get acquainted. Their active work in the sector, their planning and implementation of a sector-leading congress, and the fact that we, as sector partners, felt they offered a close environment and infrastructure for us to interact with, were important factors in our decision. The opportunity to stay informed about all developments, updates, and innovations in the sector firsthand was very helpful. The guidance they provided on technical issues that we might overlook during our brand/company's rapid growth was very productive. In addition, it allowed us to gain sectoral networking and discover the volume and potential of the sector. We currently recommend KÜAD to many of our sector partners and brand owners. We especially want them to access the contributions KÜAD can provide in the development processes of their brands/companies. We believe that the Turkish cosmetics industry can be taken to a higher level by working together as a community, and therefore we hope that our ability to act collectively will develop. ELLEAIR INTERNATIONAL TURKEY Şule Küçükoğlu, R&D Quality Director Becoming a member of KÜAD (Cosmetics Industry Association) offers many advantages. Membership allows you to stay up-to-date with industry-specific information, improve your business, and keep pace with innovations in the sector. Furthermore, membership enables you to expand your network by meeting professionals in the industry, forge collaborations, and share your experiences. You can also learn about legal regulations affecting the cosmetics industry through the association's legislation and legal affairs group, and participate in these processes to improve your products. KÜAD membership can be a significant step towards strengthening your business and closely following developments in the sector. DALAN CHEMISTRY Özgür Polat, R&D Manager I met KÜAD while working in the industry. It has grown into an influential organization, bringing together stakeholders in the sector under a common umbrella. I have many years of experience with detergents, with the last three years intersecting with cosmetics. I attended many of their congresses and helped my company become a member. Through this membership, I saw that they were able to make effective contributions, especially in Ministry processes, and that they addressed the concerns of manufacturers. I particularly recommend KÜAD to companies based in Turkey. The congresses, scientific presentations, and professional workshops are very important. PINKAR CHEMISTRY Serdar Kırbaş, Production Manager I first learned about KÜAD through my friends and colleagues in the sector, and then through the beneficial events, congresses, and training announcements it organizes. Like all stakeholders who understand KÜAD's importance within the sector, we became members with the desire to participate in beneficial projects, share what we have, and learn what we don't. Although KÜAD is still very young, I believe it has already proven itself to be an indispensable building block of the sector. For this reason, I recommend that all stakeholders in the sector become members without delay, as I am sure that seeing them under the umbrella of KÜAD will be an example of how knowledge grows through sharing. ARESA FLAVORS & FRAGRANCES M. Deniz Özatıcı, Chairman of the Board I met KÜAD years ago at the invitation of Halis Ertaş, the owner of Talya Herbal Products. Thinking it would be right to be part of an organization founded and developed by professionals, we took our place in KÜAD. Dear Representatives of the Cosmetics World, We would like to extend an invitation to you to become a member of KÜAD, our association that closely follows innovations in the cosmetics sector and stands out with the advantages it offers its members. In the rapidly developing cosmetics sector, it is critically important for companies and individuals to keep up with these changes. KÜAD aims to provide its members with the most up-to-date information in this field by closely following the latest trends, technological developments, and market dynamics in the sector. In this context, by becoming a member of our association, you can stay one step ahead of the innovations in the sector, make your business more efficient, and establish valuable connections with other professionals in the sector. With your membership, you will become part of a community sensitive to changes in the sector and will have the opportunity to participate in congresses, training programs, and collaborative projects organized within KÜAD. At the same time, you can make your business more competitive by gaining access to up-to-date information about the sector. We invite you to join the growing family of KÜAD, and we look forward to you taking advantage of this opportunity and continuing your journey to success in the cosmetics industry with us. ENTEKNO MATERIALS Oktay Uysal, General Manager Ismail Aslan and Bekir Çakıcı introduced us to KÜAD (Turkish Cosmetics Industry Association). We met during the years when we were just entering the cosmetics industry. KÜAD's sincere, effective, and democratic atmosphere encouraged us to become members. Our membership has strengthened our communication among cosmetics companies, allowed us to better understand the direction the sector is heading, and enabled us to more closely identify obstacles and opportunities. I strongly recommend it to all companies working in the cosmetics field. Being a part of KÜAD means being part of a family. Turkish cosmetics is a strong industry. KÜAD acts as an umbrella organization in this field. Being under one roof provides the necessary environment for companies to support each other, overcome difficult situations with the synergy of unity, and grow stronger. In this sincere and productive environment, many valuable cosmetics companies in our country are growing and will continue to grow. FROMA ESSENCE AND AROMA İlkem Ünlüçerçi, Commercial Director We met KÜAD through Levent Kahrıman, whom we know from the industry. The sectoral activities of KÜAD were influential in Froma Esans' decision to become a member. We attend the congresses organized by KÜAD and, as a team, we communicate with companies from the cosmetics sector representing our company. We also follow their technical briefings. I would recommend KÜAD to all sector stakeholders because of the projects it undertakes for cosmetics manufacturers. TALYA HERBAL PRODUCTS Elife Gündüz, Responsible Manager We met KÜAD through Mr. Levent during the establishment phase of our association. We received support in establishing relationships with the organization to address the problems of the cosmetics industry. We recommend KÜAD to other companies because they help us update our knowledge and follow trends through their organizations and training, and because they understand the industry's language and are a solution partner for its problems. RK COSMETICS Ramazan Keleş, General Manager Before joining KÜAD, we were receiving information and following its activities through our colleagues in the management. Thanks especially to Bekir and İsmail Bey from SFA AR-GE, and our long-standing acquaintance with Levent Bey, we joined the association in 2019 and became part of the Board of Directors. It was always clear that cosmetic manufacturers and industry stakeholders had common problems and that solutions needed to be developed together. Therefore, KÜAD fills the gap of a platform where these issues can be discussed and debated very effectively. The fact that member companies prioritize the overall benefit of the sector over their own interests is impressive, and KÜAD continues on this path. For us, membership has been beneficial in terms of finding more efficient solutions, communicating more effectively, and keeping up with innovations and developments. In recent years, as a result of many successful events and effective communication, KÜAD has become a much more reliable and influential organization in the sector. This directly attracts the interest of companies that are not yet members. We also recommend and guide the industry stakeholders we are in dialogue with to take advantage of the association structure. Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Emen The story of how one gets acquainted with KÜAD (Cosmetics Industry Association) usually happens through a member referral or by attending a KÜAD event such as a congress or training session. This interaction prompts you to get to know and research KÜAD. When you learn that KÜAD represents the entire cosmetics industry, contributes to the preparation of regulations, and acts as an interface bringing together the public and private sectors and universities, becoming a member of KÜAD will be the best decision you can make. Of course, you will also inevitably want to share the joy of being part of a large family with those you value and encourage them to become KÜAD members as well. Mersin University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göktürk Avşar Although our country has high potential in many areas, it has until recently relied on imports to meet most of its needs. In recent years, as in many sectors, the number of companies focusing on the production of high value-added products and creating their own formulas in the cosmetics sector has begun to increase. Considering that it would be beneficial for companies in the sector to be aware of each other and to monitor the sector's position both domestically and internationally, the establishment of an association was agreed upon, and the KÜAD association was founded. The association's founding members include our current president, leading company members and representatives, and scientists who have made significant contributions to the sector. Thanks to its many well-planned projects and international congresses, the association quickly gained recognition. With this awareness, it has become a non-governmental organization that all companies wish to join. Both collaborations and events with government representatives, as well as efforts to protect the interests of companies, have made the sector's firms much stronger and more effective. As a result of all this, our country has quickly become a country whose cosmetics sector is followed by foreign countries. In this sense, KÜAD has made very important contributions. Thanks to KÜAD, the congresses held have allowed not only product development but also scientific studies related to the sector to be followed, attracting the attention of both researchers and manufacturers. This has enabled companies wishing to produce new products to develop more professional and effective projects by collaborating with academics or companies conducting research in the sector. It has also encouraged many companies that initially wondered if they could do it themselves, thus supporting them in producing innovative new products. The number of incentives in our country continues to increase every day. In particular, the encouragement of projects aimed at increasing university-industry collaborations has come to the forefront. In this sense, the cosmetics sector is the sector where collaborations can be established most quickly and effectively. In this respect, KÜAD plays an important guiding role by bringing together companies and relevant scientists. KÜAD, which acts as a locomotive in the production of sustainable, high value-added innovative products in our country's sector, is an association that has achieved firsts among its counterparts worldwide. Its recently published industry magazine, regular industry talks, and training programs are adding significant value to our country. KÜAD is an association open to all companies, large and small, that want to be active and contribute. Today, KÜAD, having grown into a large family, continues to organize many different events. I am proud to be a part of this family.

ATTENTION BIOCIDAL COMPANIES As is known, in Annex V of the Biocidal Products Regulation, Product Type-1 human hygiene products are defined as “Biocidal products in this group are used for human hygiene; their primary purpose is the disinfection of the skin and scalp, and they are applied to or come into contact with human skin and scalp.” The relevant definitions in Regulation 528/2012 on Biocidal Products are also stated in this manner. Additionally, in the guide "Biocidal Products Regulation Guide: Part 2 Efficacy – Section B+C: Measurement and Evaluation," the following statements are explicitly mentioned for Product Type-1 (PT-1) biocidal products: “Products intended for the disinfection of damaged skin (e.g., wound disinfection) or for the disinfection of undamaged skin prior to a patient's medical treatment (e.g., pre-operative skin disinfection and pre-injection disinfection) and products with medical use claims are always classified as human medicinal products (fall under Directive 2001/83/EC on human medicinal products). PT-1 biocidal products mainly consist of hand sanitizers, which may also include wrist and forearm disinfection. In this context, biocidal products for which an application for a human medicinal product license is submitted by 01.01.2027 and reported to the Cosmetic Products Department, or those wishing to remain on the market as biocidal products and for which the relevant medical claims have been removed from the label and a label registration application submitted, will be allowed to remain on the market in their current form until the expiration date. MG INTERNATIONAL FRAGRANCE COMPANY Bülent Konca, Assistant General Manager When the idea of establishing a platform to unite the chemical sector with KÜAD was proposed, I was excited and decided to join. Dr. M. Fatih Emen Meeting KÜAD typically happens through another member’s recommendation or by attending a KÜAD event, such as a congress or training session.
